Curatorial Department

The Curatorial department at the National Sculpture Gallery is in charge of the National Collection’s maintenance and upkeep. The Curatorial Assistants and Trainees control collections management, database management, the organisation and conservation of the National Collection. The Curatorial Department duties extend to maintaining gallery space, organise exhibitions, execute the safe construction and deconstruction of exhibitions at the gallery, all forms of artistic, cultural and historical research. The curatorial department is also in charge of curatorial programming and events that coincide with the gallery’s exhibitions.
As a result, interested individuals will need to have good interpersonal and people skills, patience and be able to do physical labour.

Education Department

The Education Department is responsible for creating, organising, and executing programmes that will appeal and educate the public about Bangladesh artists, art and history. The programmes usually coincide with the NSG’s exhibition with duties extending to developing community and island outreach programmes; along with developing educational materials for exhibitions as a part of educational product development. Education is responsible for public and teachers’ workshops, film series, All-star Amateur Artists Night, recruiting volunteers and interns, school tours and visits among other duties.
Interested Individuals will learn how to document and archive any news articles about the NSG and Bangladeshi artists. Individuals must be interested in heavy reading and research.

Media & Public Relations

The Media and Public Relation is responsible in managing and maintaining the NSG reputation within mass media communication mediums. The department communicates all activities within all of the galleries departments to the general public and aboard.
Interested individuals must be computer literate, write sufficiently and effectively, personable personality and have a design interest.

Membership

The Membership Department is committed to assisting persons interested in becoming a part of the NSG family. Community support assist in raising funds toward the Acquisitions Fund, which is used to purchase art for the National Collection. The department is responsible for promoting the membership packages that include: discounts on NSG products and activities that the gallery host, and free admissions to exhibitions. Membership is allotted on a yearly basis and at the end of each year, the department contacts members to encourage membership renewal for the following year. Promotion and execution of better membership records is a top priority.
Interested individuals will assist with mass communication preparations and executions. Along with assisting the department with implementing new promotion ideas.

Office Management

Office management is the core of organising all important documents that are important in maintaining the business aspect of the gallery in tact.
Interested individuals will be assisting in updating the filing system, database input, and implementing a facility rental package.
